1. The service
Acta lets private groups (“squads”) set friendly stakes on their habits. Stakes are words, not payments: the app never transfers money between users, holds funds, or enforces a stake. Settling a stake is entirely between you and your friends, in real life. Acta is operated by West-East Forte.
2. Your account
You must provide a valid email address and keep your credentials safe. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Acta. You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account in the app.
3. How completion is verified
When you submit proof of a check-in, the other members of your squad confirm or dispute it by peer vote; a simple majority of the other members decides. There is no automated or AI review of your submissions.
4. Premium
Premium is an optional auto-renewing monthly subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The current price is shown in the app before you confirm the purchase. Premium unlocks unlimited squads, unlimited active stakes and private commitments, squads of any size, custom reminder days, 30-day Insights history, and unlimited reflections. The free tier includes one owned squad, one joined squad, one active stake, one active private commitment, squads of up to 5 members, reminders that repeat daily, 7-day Insights, and 5 reflections per commitment. Premium time earned through the referral program (see Section 4a) is granted as a limited-time promotional benefit and does not renew. Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your store's subscription settings; refunds follow the store's policies, not ours.
4a. Referral program
Acta's referral program lets you invite a friend and both receive a limited-time Premium grant. Eligibility and rewards:
- Who can be referred: new accounts only, within 24 hours of creating the account, with a confirmed email address.
- What qualifies a referral: the referred account's first proof submission, made within 30 days of claiming the referral code.
- Rewards: the referrer receives 14 days of Premium and the referred user receives 7 days of Premium once the referral qualifies. A referrer can earn rewards for up to 3 qualifying referrals per calendar month. These amounts may change at any time; the current amounts are always shown in the app.
- Stacking: referral Premium time stacks on top of (starts after) any Premium time you already have, whether paid or from another referral.
- Abuse: we may invalidate a referral and revoke any Premium time granted through it if we determine it involved a fake, duplicate, or self-referred account.
5. Community guidelines
Squads are private, but they are shared spaces. By using Acta you agree not to post:
- harassment, hate speech, or threats;
- sexually explicit or violent content;
- illegal content, or content that infringes the rights of others;
- spam or deceptive content;
- other people's personal information without their consent.
Every chat message and proof photo can be reported (long-press a message, or tap the ⋯ menu on a proof), and any member can be blocked, which hides their content from you immediately. We review reports within 24 hours and remove violating content and, where warranted, the accounts that posted it.
6. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
7. Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for anything that happens between squad members over a stake.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
